NAMM 2012: AKAI MAX49
Posted on Thu 19 January 2012 in Keyboards & Synths
The Akai Max49 is a brand new MIDI controller keyboard with some unique features that we predict will make it a hugely popular product with both home and professional studio owners.
As you probably already guessed from the name, the Max49 features 49 semi-weighted keys, but it also offers a whole lot more! It features 12 genuine MPC pads for the ultimate beat-making experience, AkaiConnect automatic mapping software for instant set-up with your music software, CV and Gate outputs and perhaps most exciting of all, 4 banks of 8 touch faders, which allows the controller to update in realtime to show the status of your software parameters. This works because there are no moving parts! To adjust a 'fader', simply press your finger down on the touchstrip and drag, and the LEDs illuminate to indicate the current position of the parameter.
