FREE RME WEBINAR WITH FIREFACE UCX & UFX INTERFACES

Posted on Thu 04 July 2013 in Computer Music

RME Fireface UCXSitting at the heart of your studio, your audio interface is something that you need to fully understand in order to make the most out of your sessions. However, let's face it, who actually enjoys flicking through a manual, especially for a type of product that many people regard as one of those slightly boring yet essential purchases? After all, it's not like you can play with your interface like you can with a synth or a guitar whilst you're learning about it!

Luckily, anyone purchasing an RME Fireface UCX or UFX up until August 31st 2013 will get a FREE invite to a webinar (RRP £99) hosted by product manager Rob Masters. During this webinar, Rob and his team will take you through all the essential features of the interfaces, starting with a basic overview and moving on to using the TotalMix FX software for routing, grouping and effects; using the RME Remote Control and using the interfaces in conjunction with an iPad. He will also be dishing out some top tips and there will be an opportunity to put any questions that you have over to Rob and his team so this is the perfect way to become an expert on your interface in as little time as possible.

RME Fireface UFX Interface

Now, just a little word on the Fireface UCX and UFX. RME are famed for creating interfaces with top-end preamps and extremely detailed converters and the UCX and UFX are really very special little units. To test their converters, we once A/B'd the UFX against a slightly less expensive interface from a highly regarded manufacturer. We hooked the outputs of each device into a switching unit running into a pair of high-end Focal SM9 three-way speakers, which we knew would highlight any small differences in the audio. We then played the same track through each interface and switched between the outputs of the two, simply to get an idea of how the converters were performing. We were shocked to hear just how much more life the track running through the RME unit had compared to the one running through the other interface (which was by no means a poor-sounding unit itself)!

We've not even mentioned the preamps of the UCX and UFX yet, which RME have updated especially for these units. Well, you'll be pleased to hear that the preamps are extremely clean and detailed and if you've got a decent microphone, you'll really appreciate what these interfaces give you in terms of pristine audio recording quality. We've even had feedback from previous customers who were so impressed that they commented that the preamps are worth the money alone! High praise indeed!

Anyway, if you're looking for a high-quality interface with plenty of inputs and outputs then we would suggest checking to see if a Fireface UCX or UFX lies within your budget. Of course, the main reason for purchasing one is for the quality and reliability of the unit, but until August 31st, the free webinar makes it an even more tempting proposition...

You will receive details for how to register for the webinar upon registration of your Fireface UCX or UFX.
