IT'S TIME FOR THE NORD LEAD 4!

It looks like Nord have been busy little bees recently because they've only gone and released the Nord Lead 4 as well as their Nord Drum 2, Nord Pad and Nord Piano 2 HP. This synthesiser features new performance tools, new filters and new effects for the most comprehensive Nord Lead to date!

The Nord Lead 4 is a 4-part multi-timbral synth with a new and improved 2-oscillator virtual analogue sound engine and a 49-note velocity-sensitive keyboard. Of course, the Nord Lead 4 features all the classic waveforms in addition to a Wavetable mode with unique Formant Wavetables! Plus, there's plenty more that you can do to customise your sounds. The Nord Lead 4 also offers Frequency Modulation, Hard/Soft sync options and Unison mode for stacking up to four oscillators per voice for super thick sounds.
In terms of the filters included with the Nord Lead 4, you are provided with Low Pass (12/24dB), High Pass and Band Pass modes, plus new simulations of two transistor and diode ladder filters. There's also a filter overdrive control for distorting your sound before the effect section.
The Nord Lead 4 features a brand new feature in the way of Variation buttons, which let you override almost any parameter and re-engage it instantly. For example, quickly alter the LFO speed, mod or effect routings. This is a fantastic feature for live performance purposes.
The Nord Lead 4 will also be available in a desktop/rackmount version, labelled as the Nord Lead 4R.
