PRS just announced a new trio of signature guitars in collaboration with Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden.
30 years ago one of the greatest rock power ballads ever written, 'Here I Go Again' reached number 1 in the US and to commemorate this Paul Reed Smith Guitars has unveiled 3 new guitars endorsed by the song's guitarist and co-writer, Bernie Marsden. The limited run of PRS SE guitars will be available in 3 finishes, the classic, and original, Vintage Sunburst as well as Grey Black and a new Dark Cherry Sunburst. All 3 variants of the Bernie Marsden signature PRS guitars have an upgraded satin neck and a 2017 headstock design.
Bernie Marsden commented “Nick the chief tech at PRS Europe rubbed back the neck on one of my original Bernie SE’s to make it satin and I have to say, whilst I like the original gloss finish, I’ve been playing the satin one quite a bit more, so I’m doubly delighted and proud to see the SE Bernie back again with this upgrade!”
Elsewhere on the new PRS SE Bernie Marsden signature models you can expect to find a beveled maple top and flame veneer, a bound rosewood fingerboard and a mahogany neck and body. Hardware wise, there is a duo of SE245 pickups, a 3 way toggle switch on the upper bout, a single-piece wraparound bridge and tulip tuners. All finished off with the trademark PRS bird neck inlays. These Bernie Marsden PRS signature guitars are limited to only 300 pieces so they are certainly worth snapping up if you get the chance and being priced at around £800 you get a lot of guitar for your money!
