Mid-Late January is a magic time of year when all the major brands announce their newest releases, and the world of drums is no different. Roland just announced their newest additions - adding two new impressive monitors designed for V-Drums to their product lineup.
Makers of the ever-popular V-Drums, Roland, just announced the PM-100 and PM-200 Personal Monitors, two new amplification systems designed for use with V-Drums electronic drum kits. The V-Drums kits have earned a reputation for being highly expressive and responsive and these new monitors have been designed to showcase these attributes in the best possible way, whether on stage or practicing at home.
The more compact of the two new monitors - the Roland PM-100 drum monitor , houses a 10 inch speaker and a tweeter that is driven by 80 watts of power. Meanwhile its larger brother, the Roland PM-200 drum monitor , is an 180 watt monitor with a 12-inch speaker and a horn tweeter. Both monitors are designed to be used as floor wedges, with the front face angled up to the player in order to provide ideal sound coverage.

The Roland PM-100
Other than the power and speaker size, the only difference between the two models is that the PM-200 monitor is equipped with two XLR direct outputs that allow the user to send sounds to an external mixer or recording device, providing additional flexibility for using the monitor on stage, at a rehearsal, or in the studio.
Both models feature an integrated mixer with a dedicated V-Drums input as well as ¼-inch and 1/8-inch line inputs for connecting additional devices like electronic percussion pads, smartphones, and music players. Elsewhere on the unit there is a full-width handlebar that makes it easier to carry and position.
