The new wave of the brilliant headphone guitar amp from Vox has been announced!
We love little music gadgets here at Absolute Music, and if they make our lives easier by cutting out unnecessary leads and equipment, then all the better! Which is why The Vox AmPlug has always been a bit of a hit here in our shop. Plug this little chap straight into your guitar, plug in some headphones and you’re ready to play wherever you are!
Vox has just announced the next wave of models for the AmPlug 2 range. The new line features 3 models “Clean”, “Blues” and “Lead”. The Clean and Blues models are entirely new, whereas the Lead model is a revived version of first generation model. Each gives you three modes, and by switching between these modes you can expand your range of sonic variation. In addition, there are a total of nine types of effect (Chorus x 3, Delay x 3, and Reverb x 3) for even more freedom in shaping your sound.
It’s amazing how they get so much circuitry in such a small box. Not only do you get the three different amp modes and nine effects but you can also plug in your smartphone or mp3 player via an AUX in socket so you can play along with your favourite songs and backing tracks. We have been told that battery life is around 17 hours, which is helped by the 30 minute auto-off feature.
As with all the previous models, the Vox AmPlug2 has a foldable plug that rotates through 180 degrees so it is usable with any guitar shape without getting in the way. Not only is the AmPlug2 convenient, it also sounds really good too, obviously you will probably never record through it but for the sub-£35.00 price tag, it’s a lot of fun and makes it easy for you to enjoy a decent full-fledged amp sound!
This little gig bag essential would make a brilliant gift for any guitarist and will come in handy for late night practices at home, backstage last-minute rehearsals or just playing wherever, and whenever, inspiration strikes.
