Roli Seaboard

Existing owners of (and those that are about to purchase) the Roli Seaboard, rejoice. You will now be able to download the award-winning polysynth software STROBE2 for free.

Ever since the launch of the soft silicone keys and ‘5D touch’ of the Roli Seaboard, many players have been making the leap and adopting the new system and it has been winning awards all over the place, such as Product of the Year from Future Music, Best Innovative Product by MIPA Awards and the Editors Choice Award from Electronic Musician.

Starting from the 1st of February 2017 every owner of a Roli Seaboard Rise or Seaboard Grand will be entitled to a free download of STROBE2 from FXpansion (usually available for £145). This is also alongside other software packages that are available to Roli users such as Equator and Bitwig 8-Track (for the Seaboard Rise).

With a sophisticated analogue modelling engine, a superb effects section, an easy-to-use preset library browser and compatibility with Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE) instruments, STROBE2 is a must-have for music producers. It recently became an even more powerful tool for expression after adding over 200 new preset sounds designed for 5D Touch on the Seaboard.

If you already own a Roli Seaboard just go to the My Roli section of the Roli website and you’ll receive an unlock code. If you are not lucky enough to own a Roli yet, you can either try one out in our store (near Poole, Dorset) or buy online here.

This news will not come as a huge surprise to those that are closely following the Roli success story. In September last year it was announced that FXpansion had been acquired by Roli, which not only means that software bundles such as this new one are possible but also that Roli will be developing more 5D touch software, so keep your eyes open for future announcements about that!

To see how well the Seaboard integrates with Strobe2, just check out the video below or pop in and try it for yourself.
