Over the last few years EarthQuaker Devices has really made a name for itself for making decent stompboxes and already have a string of professional users proudly backing the brand, and rightly so. At this year’s NAMM Show it was announced that the Ohio-based pedal builders will be upgrading a handful of its most popular products to make them even more robust and stage-friendly. Enter the Cloven Hoof V2, Hoof V2, Levitation V2, Organizer V2 and the Bit Commander V2.
If you have been reading reviews of their products you will already be familiar with an on-going issue that EarthQuaker Devices pedals that, despite sounding incredible and very usable, they have a tendency to be a little bit clunky when switching (much like some of the older Electro Harmonix models were), which is one of the main issues addressed in this new round of updates. The upgraded pedals now feature an updated soft-touch relay switching system for dead-silent and effortless on-stage operation, along with enhanced long-term durability. In addition, the Organizer V2 and Levitation V2 feature improved circuits for better performance and a much lower noise-floor.
We are big fans of the EarthQuaker Devices pedals here and we are pleased to see this upgrade which will go a long way to further their reputation amongst serious guitarists. We are expecting to see the new V2 pedals late January, so keep an eye out for them in store in the near future!
