It's not often we welcome Hollywood stars through the doors here at Absolute Music, but last night we played movie actor Thomas Ian Nicholas, better known for playing Kevin Myers in all four of the American Pie films).
Thom, who's a musician as well as an actor, was here to film an exclusive, intimate acoustic session organised by Dorset-based Sontronics microphones (Thom was using their STC-3X and STC-10 mics) and Poole-based Vocalzone, whose lozenges apparently keep Thom's vocals in tip-top condition. Thom squeezed in the session ahead of his gig at The Old Firestation where he would be entertaining hundreds of Bournemouth Uni students as part of his current #FratPartyTourUK.
The session was engineered and filmed by our media guru Dan Henry, here seen with Thom enjoying a lovely Absolute Music cuppa. Dan took time to show Thom and his team around the store before they set up, and had to drag him away from the guitar displays more than once. "This is just an amazing place," said Thom, "and you've got so many awesome guitars. This is enough to put Guitar Center to shame."
Well, thanks very much Thom!
Keep an eye out for our video footage of Thom's session coming very soon, and in the mean time, catch him and his band on the remaining UK tour dates: or look out for him starring in the soon-to-be-released 'Walt Before Disney' movie.
