What a year for Orange Amps! 2010 has seen the launch of some of the coolest, most powerful and best sounding amps ever to grace our guitar showroom. From the RockerVerb Mk2 to the CR6S Stereo Micro Crush, there’s some serious gear for Orange fans to drool over…
Rocker around the Clock
January saw Orange launch a number of groundbreaking products. The new Rockerverb MkII series builds on the classic proven formula, improving on the specs and taking guitar amps to the next level. The range now includes a new RockerVerb 50W 1x12” model with new EL34 valves (two of them) as well as the classic 50W and 100W heads plus a 2x12” combo amp.
Orange also found time to give absolutemusic their No. 1 Independent Dealer award. Hooray!
Take your PiX
The Crush PiX range has proved popular with loads of our customers and was recently upgraded to pack more punch and offer more value for money. In case you haven’t seen them piled up in our guitar showroom, the Crush PiX amps are now available in an optional black casing as well as the instantly recognisable bright orange.
The PiX series has also been extended to include the new CR100BXT bass amp combo. With 100W RMS, this packs serious power and features a 15-inch speaker and built-in digital tuner plus line out and aux in sockets.
Also coming soon is a new stereo Micro Crush practice amp, the CR6S. This highly portable compact practice amp has two speakers for full stereo sound plus line out/aux in sockets. It includes a 2.5mm stereo jack socket to plug in your iPod/MP3 player, a gain control, built-in tuner and comes with an 18V power supply.
Another new combination
Also recently released is the TH30 combo and head. This all-valve Class A 30-Watter is a twin-channel amp powered by four EL84 power valves. It includes a classic vintage channel and a second overdrive/distortion channel.
People power
Orange’s amps have garnered many a famous user over the years and the festival season sees many Orange endorsees hitting the stages, kicking off with the Download Festival featuring Jim Root (Stone Sour), The Used, Young Guns and The Blackout. By the end of the summer, Orange will have been seen on all the main stages, with Placebo at Sonisphere to Lost Prophets and Limp Bizkit at the Reading Festival.
Orange Amps continues to attract many great musicians and has already this year signed over a hundred new artists to its endorsee programme. These include rock legend Geddy Lee (of Rush fame) who will be going on tour shortly using two Orange AD200 bass heads together with two OBC410 4x10” bass cabinets.
