Since we’ve been showcasing the K-series speakers from QSC on our live stage they’ve been getting a lot of attention and it’s not hard to see why they’re the biggest selling speakers in the US…

A brief history
QSC has built up a reputation over the last 42 years as the manufacturer of some of the world’s most trusted and reliable power amplifiers. QSC has a wide range of impressive loudspeakers, from installation to line-array systems, all of which have been used on some of the biggest tours and concerts in the world. Everyone’s in the QSC queue!

Very special K
The K-series speakers are ideal for DJs, mobile music-makers and performers, and their combination of power and portability also makes them great as PA for anything from live gigs to sports instructors. In fact, we’ve been so impressed by them that we’ve added them to the stock in our new hire department!
There are four models in the range, the three tops (the K8, K10 and K12) and a K-Sub. All speakers feature the same Class D 1,000 Watt amplifier. The main difference in the top boxes is the dispersion, which is varied to suit different applications.
So the K8 with its eight-inch driver offers 105° coverage to better serve smaller audiences who are much nearer to the stage. The ten-inch K10 features 90° dispersion and the larger K12, loaded with a 12-inch woofer, has a 75° coverage intended to throw the sound further back into bigger halls.

There are almost too many to mention but the main ones are:

In a league of its own
The feature that impressed us most is DEEP (Digital Extension and Excursion Processing). DEEP means that one cabinet can deliver the low end you’d normally only associate with a connected sub. This needs to be heard to be believed!
Don’t forget all of the other clever trademarked gadgetry within these speakers including:
DMT™ (Directivity Matched Transition) provides for matched LF and HF coverage across the entire listening area, eliminating unnatural ‘dead’ or ‘hot’ frequency zones.
GuardRail™ protection –protects both the amplifier module and your performance from unnatural and destructive clipping.

GET IN THERE!
Never before have we seen this many useful inputs in one box! Small touches like being able to connect an iPod via the phono connector or plug your mic straight into the speaker thanks to those XLR inputs are extremely useful and make the K-series indispensable.
