Call For Next Generation of Drummers to Enter #FUTUREBEAT

#FUTUREBEAT is a ground-breaking new national drumming competition that offers a mouth-watering array of prizes, unique performance opportunities and maximum exposure for drummers aged 18 years and under. With a Yamaha Live Custom Drum Kit awarded to the overall #FUTUREBEAT winner, professional development by Artist Mentoring Sessions for the Grand Finalists and prizes for all Regional finalists, this is a do-not-miss-opportunity for anyone 18 years and under who plays drums.

#FUTUREBEAT is a promotion of Yamaha Music Europe GmbH (UK) in association with participating Yamaha Drum Dealers throughout the UK. The competition is co-sponsored by Rhythm Magazine and Music Radar.

Prizes

  • The Future Beat finalist will win a Yamaha 5 piece Live Custom Drum Set and hardware worth over £2300

  • Finalist will be invited to Yamaha Music Europe GmbH (UK) to have Master class sessions with leading Yamaha Drum Artists.

  • The Regional Winners will receive a Recording Custom Snare Drum worth £380

  • The Regional Finalists will receive a drum pedal worth £124

Entry Process

To apply: Simply send in an email with a link to a short video clip of your drumming performance with Full Name, Date of Birth, Address and Contact Number to your local location:

Make sure you demonstrate your ability and style. The video can be made using acoustic or electronic drums. Judges will be looking for groove, timing, technique, versatility and expression. If you record something specific for the competition it can be filmed as simply as on your smart phone. Judging will be made on your performance not the production of the video.

Regional Finals

From the video submissions, 60 young drummers will be selected to perform live on either a Yamaha Stage Custom or DTX Electronic Drum Kit at 6 Regional Finals that will each showcase 10 drummers. These drummers will play for up to a maximum of 10 minutes duration in front of audiences comprising family, friends and members of the general public. All regional finalists will win a Yamaha drum pedal and the Regional winners will each win a Yamaha Recording Custom Series snare drum.
