ABSOLUTE MUSIC SUPERSTORE: PROGRESS REPORT #6

Here's a quick update on what's happening in our brand new pro-music superstore, which has now reached the exciting fitting-out stage. These pictures were taken on Thursday 15th June 2012...
In the fortnight since we last sent our intrepid photographer (with hard hat, of course) to see what's going on in our new store, a lot has happened, so here's where we're at this week...

1. Down on the ground floor, the main change is that the dedicated synth/keyboard and acoustic rooms now have lighting installed and the slatted display wall boards are being installed. They actually feel like shop rooms rather than empty spaces at last!

2. Turning to the left and we're now facing the front of the building and a lot of work has been happening here. Robin and Joe now have a window as well as a door into their guitar workshop (upstairs), and all the windows are now glazed. The full-height front wall has now been fully plasterboarded and is ready for painting and decorating.
All the stuff in the foreground is a mix of plasterboarding (for the remaining unboarded rooms), a few doorframes and a huge pile of slatted display wall.

3. Here's a quick look inside the synth/keyboard room... it won't be long until we actually have this looking like a REAL showroom!

4. Well our drum department manager, Austin, has had a very exciting week as his huge showroom finally feels like a showroom (rather than a darkened tomb) thanks to the addition of ceiling tiles, plasterboarding and the all-important lighting. Happy Birthday Austin!

5. Big change upstairs in the DJ/live zone, which is where we'll have all our PA rigs, lighting and DJ gear on display and available to demo. This will also be a space where we can have seminars and demos... watch this space (quite literally) for events coming up soon.
This week the room has been fully boarded, the dangling wires (from the last too progress reports) have finally been sorted, and the new fire exit door has been installed (complete with fire escape staircase out the back... luckily!)

6. Finally a nice view out across the mezzanine, showing two of the three huge, black guitar display walls, and the newly framed doors into the four guitar demo booths, plus the two doors into the DJ/Live zone.
Whaddya know, it's starting to look like a REAL store!
