MIC BLIND LISTENING TESTS AND THE sE X1
Posted on Thu 08 December 2011 in Content
In November of this year a number of professional studio engineers, artists and producers gathered in Sphere Studios in London to perform a scientific test that compared the quality of four studio microphones in detail. The microphones in question were the Rode NT1-A, the sE Electronics sE X1, the Neumann TLM 102 and the AKG Perception P220.
All tests were set-up identically and recordings were taken of male vocals, female vocals and acoustic guitar. All recordings were set at exactly the same level before tests began and in each test, the listener was not aware of which mic he was listening to recordings from.Click HERE to visit the official sE Electronics website, read the full report and see which mic came out on top. I'll give you a clue though... only sE Electronics published the results so I'm guessing they were pretty happy about something!
