ROLAND ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO-CAPTURE & DUO-CAPTURE MK2 USB INTERFACES

A new Roland flagship 16 x 10 USB interface for Mac and PC has been announced in the shape of the Roland Studio-Capture, along with its little cousin, the Duo-Capture Mk2. As portable USB I/O goes, the Roland Studio-Capture takes the prize for microphone connectivity. Boasting twelve premium “VS” mic preamps, the new rackmount Studio version of the current range of Roland Capture interfaces will no doubt please many producers and musicians who wish for simplicity and quality.
The highly-spec’d Studio-Capture offers 24-bit/192 kHz audio, dedicated XLR monitor outputs, dual headphone outs and front-panel metering. The only digital I/O is stereo S/PDIF coaxial in and out, but with the remaining being 14 x 8 analogue and the ability to run two units together to give 32 x 20 I/O and 24 pres, the Studio-Capture is likely to appeal to many studio owners and producers.

Mac and PC platforms are supported through ASIO 2.0/WDM (Windows) and Core Audio (Mac) drivers offering low latency and solid operation, and the 1x1 MIDI I/O uses Roland’s FPT (Fast Processing Technology) to ensure tight MIDI timing. Other interesting features include AUTO-SENS that lets you quickly and easily set the optimum input level and DSP-powered internal routing with four Direct Mixers for zero-latency multi-monitoring, and on-board monitoring reverb.
Not as grand, but just as cute, the Roland Duo-Capture Mk2 is a 2-channel USB audio interface for Mac, PC and iPad. This truly portable I/O box is bus-powered with two inputs for mic, line or guitar signals, dual headphones and dedicated controls for input and output volume. The Duo-Capture Mk2 keeps it simple, allowing high quality recording anywhere and even comes with Cakewalk’s SONAR X1 LE DAW recording software (Windows only). If you want to use the Duo-Capture with your iPad and any number of available iOS Recording Apps, then all you need is Apple’s Camera Connection Kit.
