FREE THUNDERBOLT CARD WITH APOLLO INTERFACE OFFER
Posted on Thu 02 January 2014 in Computer Music
Universal Audio's Apollo interfaces provide top-quality professional preamps and converters, a selection of studio-ready connections and to top it all off, built-in DSP for running UA's amazing plug-ins.
Universal Audio plug-ins are considered by many to be the best in the business, providing realistic software emulations of some of the most sought-after analogue studio gear ever. For example, fancy owning a classic 1176 limiter? Or the fabled Shadow Hills mastering compressor? Or maybe you fancy putting your sound through a Neve channel strip? There's no need to fork out thousands of pounds or clear any rack space if you own a UAD card... simply purchase the software plug-ins and you can even run multiple instances in a single project if you have enough spare DSP!
From 1st January 2014 until 31st March 2014, you will be able to claim a FREE Thunderbolt option card (worth £409) when you purchase and register a new Apollo interface.
HOW TO CLAIM & GRACE PERIOD
Your free Thunderbolt card will now be provided pre-fitted in your Apollo interface. If you purchased an Apollo interface from older stock, you will need to register your Apollo interface and Universal Audio will sort out the rest!
Customers who purchased an Apollo interface during December 2013 will also be eligible for a free card as part of the offer's grace period. This will be organised by Universal Audio, as long as you registered your qualifying purchase with them. Alternatively, if you bought both an Apollo interface and Thunderbolt card during December 2013, you will be eligible to receive a UAD plug-in voucher by way of grace-period compensation. Again, this will be handled by Universal Audio and will require you to register your purchases first.
If you have any questions about this offer, or have not received your free gift when you think that you should have, please e-mail info@uaudio.com.
APOLLO RANGE
The current range of Apollo interfaces includes the Apollo Duo, Apollo Quad and Apollo 16.
The Apollo Duo features super high-quality 24-bit/192 kHz converters, along with 8 analogue inputs (including 4 of UA's ultra-clean preamps and 2 front-panel DI connections for easily hooking up an electric guitar), 14 analogue outputs (including 2 dedicated stereo headphone outputs) and 10 channels of digital I/O (8 channels over ADAT and 2 channels over S/PDIF). In addition, the Apollo Duo hides a dual-core DSP processor under its bonnet for running your choice of UAD plug-ins (it comes with the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176LN Limiting Amplifier and Pultec EQP-1A Program Equalizer).
The Apollo Quad is almost identical to the Duo, apart from it contains twice the amount of DSP processing. It features a quad-core processor, for running significantly more UAD plug-ins simultaneously.
Last but not least is the newest addition to the Apollo family, the Apollo 16. The Apollo 16 is designed to cater for high-end studios, or anyone who already owns their share of preamps, headphone amps, etc. As such, it simply features 16 analogue line inputs and 16 analogue line outputs, giving you maximum flexibility for hooking up your own gear.
Just like the Apollo Quad, the Apollo 16 features a built-in quad-core processor and comes with the same UAD plug-ins as both the Duo and the Quad.
WHY THUNDERBOLT?
Although all Apollo interfaces feature Firewire 800 connections, it's no secret that with improving technology, the Firewire protocol is on its way out. The Thunderbolt option adds super-fast Thunderbolt connectivity to your Apollo interface, allowing you to transfer data to and from your computer at faster speeds than ever before, as well as future-proofing your interface for when the Firewire apocalypse comes.
The Apollo Thunderbolt card features a two-port design, allowing you to connect to your computer with one port and daisy-chain another Thunderbolt device using the other.
