So, Live 9... what's new?

ABLETON LIVE 9 - RECORD AUTOMATION TO CLIPS

Ableton Live 9 now allows you to record automation to clips, which allows you to easily reposition the automation data whenever you move a clip. You can even record these parameter changes in the Session View, making it easier than ever to improvise and create ideas on the spot.

The Session View is also now more closely integrated with the Arrange View - with one click you can create new Session View scenes from your Arrangement tracks, or you can drag and copy clips from the Arrangement to the Session view. Of course, all automation recorded within the clip is also transferred between screens.

ABLETON LIVE 9 - NEW BROWSER

Live 9 features a brand new browser, making it easier for you to find your sounds, instruments, effects and samples. You can also drag and drop folders into Ableton's browser from anywhere on your computer, making it simple to organise your library!

ABLETON LIVE 9 - NEW SOUNDS

Live 9 comes with new instruments and sounds for an expanded sonic library. Live 9 Suite comes with over 3000 production-ready sounds, ranging from retro synth-sounds to drums and acoustic instruments and loops! Live 9's instruments also offer a ton of flexibility, allowing you to tweak parameters to customise the sounds to your needs.

ABLETON LIVE 9 - GLUE COMPRESSOR

Live 9 comes with a new analogue-modelled Glue Compressor as well as re-designed studio effects. The Glue Compressor is modelled on a classic 80s bus compressor and gives fantastic musical results.

ABLETON LIVE 9 - CONVERT AUDIO TO MIDI

Ableton Live 9 features new tools for turning audio into MIDI data! This allows you to extract musical ideas from your samples and then edit and customise them to your needs. This feature is extremely useful when used with drums as it allows you to completely customise an existing recorded groove, whilst using it as a starting point. However, you can also use it with pitched parts, using Live 9's Harmony-to-MIDI feature.

Using this new feature of Live 9 you can also record yourself singing, beatboxing, tapping a rhythm or playing an instrument to quickly capture your ideas, and you can then use the Melody- or Drums-to-MIDI tools to turn your recordings into MIDI clips, from where you can fully edit them for your needs.

ABLETON LIVE 9 - DETAILED MIDI EDITING

The improved MIDI editing of Live 9 makes working with MIDI data even more intuitive than ever! For example, you can now invert, reverse, transpose, speed up or slow down MIDI notes with a single click! Notes are also easier to position, whether you want them to snap to a musical grid or move them freely. MIDI clips are also easily warpable, allowing you to speed up and slow down specific parts of a loop.

ABLETON LIVE 9 - MAX

Max for Live is now included with Ableton Live 9 Suite. This powerful visual programming language allows you to create your own custom instruments and effects by combining different elements together. If you don't fancy making your own then it also gives you access to almost 1000 additional devices built by the Max for Live community. Straight out of the box you also get 26 new Max for Live devices, including synths, effects, LFOs, envelopes, note delays and a convolution reverb.

ABLETON LIVE 9 - PUSH CONTROLLER
