The guys over at Focusrite have just announced that they will be releasing the new Saffire PRO 26 Interface, and guess what? It's Firewire and Thunderbolt compatible folks! The dual-protocol compatibility means Saffire interfaces will work seamlessly for years to come with the next generation of computers.

Main advantages of audio over FireWire / Thunderbolt, are to separate your data streams completely from your audio streams, assuming you are using a USB Hard Drive, mouse, keyboard, etc. thus reducing the possibility of interference with other devices.
