Well, people have been asking for this for a long time and last week Avid announced ProTools HD Native, which will fill the gap between their 003 systems and their flagship TDM systems. ProTools HD Native offers you the same feature set as the ProTools HD software with 192 audio tracks and latency compensation on hardware and software inserts, integrated low latency monitoring from within the software, up to 64 channels of I/O and support for venue and legacy I/O peripherals. ProTools HD Native also boasts Latency figurs as low as 1ms.
